Equipping Families for Life
EquippingWe will offer you practical training on all kinds of topics from a Biblical perspective. Series on subjects like finances, relationships, and conflict resolution will be available. Also Bible studies and discipleship training will be planned to strengthen us as believers or spouses. We will offer you opportunities to build relationships with other couples and families through Sunday lunches, Date Nights, and fellowships. These are times to have fun, relax, and become part of the Marriage Matters family. FamiliesOur target audience is young couples, young marrieds, and families with children in the home. Our families include those with one parent or two. We believe the family is the basic building block of our culture and must be protected and equipped. It all starts at home. There are specific needs that couples and parents face and we want to give you places to connect, to learn, and to receive ministry. LifeIt has been said that " Life comes at you fast", and in order to be prepared for the challenges and struggles of life, we need to not just have people who will walk with us, but those who will point us to answers that work in everyday life. We don't just want to survive life, but live it, to experience it, and to enjoy it in all the fullness that Christ makes possible. EventsWednesday NightsOn Family Nights here at the church there are activities for all ages and stages of life. Marriage Matters meets in the reception hall at 7:00. This our weekly meeting to pray for one another, connect, and interact together with subjects that are relevant to who we are where we live. All are welcome, but our subjects deal with family, relationships, and spiritual development. This is a casual time that includes light refreshments. Sunday LunchesEvery other month we have a catered lunch right after the Sunday service. Not only can you and your family eat inexpensively, but after the meal childcare is provided for children 12 and under so the adults can get some time to participate in activities like volleyball and board games, or just sit around and talk. Tickets are available for these events at least two weeks in advance. Date NightsEvery other month we offer you free childcare from 6-10 pm on a scheduled Saturday night to give you the opportunity to spend some time together. We hope this will do three things for you. For those of you who don’t have consistent date nights, this will give you a set time calendar to keep yourself accountable for needed time together. It also gives you a chance to connect with others couples who will be on a date at the same time you are. Lastly, free childcare may allow you to do something special that paying for childcare would not normally allow. There are sign ups for these events in the foyer for childcare at least 2 weeks in advance. Small GroupsThere is something powerful that happens in a large group of people who have come together to worship God, that does not generally happen in a smaller group. Likewise there are parts of our spiritual development that work best in a smaller group. We believe the best place for you to develop a ministry gift, to be discipled, and to make friends is in a small group. We have two groups now and will be starting others soon. Please consider being part of a small group today. FutureMore interactive website, ministry opportunities, picnics, missions projects... ...you are welcome! Come and find a place to on Wednesday nights, Sat nights or Sundays to find friends, get equipped, or just have fun.
