Today is Charlotte’s 1st Birthday! Charlotte is my granddaughter, and the current delight of my life! She is so precious and special. Grandkids are the best! It’s hard to believe that one year ago today, my baby was having a baby. There is just something so special that God has sown into his creation where you can see life perpetuate itself, through your own creation. Nothing man invents has that ability to procreate. Coffee makers make coffee, they never make another coffee maker. An automobile will never have another automobile. There is just something pretty significant about your child having a child. When Emily, our second child, was born it was hard to believe your heart could expand and you could fully love another child, but that definitely occurred. Then with the birth of a grandbaby, it was amazing. We were standing outside the delivery room door and heard Charlotte’s first cry. My heart automatically expanded and my capacity of love grew again. Amazing! I wonder if that’s a little bit like what God feels in His heart when another of His creations enters into a relationship with Him. I certainly understand why the angels rejoice! Even though it was 4:30 in the morning I was ready to celebrate! On this Mother’s Day weekend, let’s be thankful for God’s wonderful creation of family! I know I am. |
