Move that Bus!

Sunday February 10th, Pastor Terry preached a powerful message on discovering who we are in our new identities in Christ. He said "the old house has been destroyed and this morning you were going to be able to discover the new house that God had build". He used the illustration of Extreme Makeover - Home Edition and kept telling us, "God is saying today, 'move that bus!'".

(From Pastor Aaron)

When the altar call was given a man in his mid forties ran forward. He was standing only about five feet from me. You could tell he had been through a lot. Immediately the Holy Spirit told me that I was to pray for him. I started talking to him, he didnt say much. I began to pray for him, however, I started talking to him. I asked him if he had a relationship with Jesus and he said "no". It was obvious that he was dealing with addiction issues and so I asked him if he was happy with the life he was living, he again answered "no". Then something broke. The man started sharing his story about how he is miserable and just the day or two before he was trying to commit suicide. The failed suicide attempt brought him to a point of desperation and into the doors of Brownsville Assembly. The man was crying so much that it was hard to hear all the details. I then prayed with him again and God totally broke through. He told me he wanted to surrender his life to Jesus and so we prayed. I truly believe that God is in the business of changing lives. It is awesome to be led by the Spirit and obey the Father and watching eternal destinies change because of it.
