Rough Week
Friday, 30 May 2008

Today is Friday and it’s been a pretty rough week. Last weekend Deborah’s father was taken to hospital in the evening with what they diagnosed as a mini stroke – this prevented me from attending the men’s leadership dinner Friday night. I spoke at our Men’s Conference Saturday morning. I loved Coach Bill McCartney’s message and felt led to have an altar call – and have Coach pray! About 30 some men came forward. As I prayed alongside coach he had a prophetic word for each one, it was powerful! But what was really special, as we went to my office for a break – he shared he’d never done that before. Isn’t God Great? It was at Brownsville that Coach McCartney, founder of the powerful Promise Keepers movement, received the gift of prophecy!

Flying Home

I'm writing this entry while flying home from Puerto Rico. The services yesterday were incredibly powerful. I thoroughly enjoyed the church in San Juan. In the morning I shared a message on breakthroughs. Ministry at the altar lasted over an hour and half.

I’m sitting in my hotel room in San Juan preparing for the services tomorrow. I’m also watching, on God TV, the service in Lakeland. I just got a text from Chuck Brewster, our men’s pastor, who is helping them with training and staff organization. He said the Civic Center is packed and the presence of God is powerful! I’ve had a number of people ask me about this revival and what it’s all about. I say two things: 1) Todd Bentley is very sincere and wanting God to move 2) the crowd is hungry and seeking God. The fact is, God will always show up where people are hungry.

Today is Charlotte’s 1st Birthday! Charlotte is my granddaughter, and the current delight of my life! She is so precious and special. Grandkids are the best! It’s hard to believe that one year ago today, my baby was having a baby. There is just something so special that God has sown into his creation where you can see life perpetuate itself, through your own creation.

One Day at a Time
Tuesday, 06 May 2008

My last entry was after returning from Lakeland, since that time I’ve been in dialogue with Todd Bentley a number of times. He called me Friday evening – the first night they were at Tiger Stadium. It was 6:45pm, and he said the crowd was so great it shut traffic down in the city of Lakeland. The stadium was packed with 12,000 people and several thousand outside, not able to get in. WOW! I sent him a text at 7:40 asking if he got in yet and he called at 7:45 saying he just got in and the service had started without him.
