The New Well
21 April 2008 20:04 | Anonymous
Today's service was absolutely wonderful. The presence of Holy Spirit was strong, bring healing, renewal, and salvation. Worship was at the core of everything and it too was outstanding. Everything that happened in the service honored the Lord. During the baptism, a friend sitting behind me whispered to me and said, "now that's the way baptisms should be conducted"...and I whispered back that I would pass that on to you. Even the baby dedication was wonderful. Taking our time and following the leading of the Holy Spirit paid off...and always will.
We love you guys and pray for you daily. The "new well" has indeed been dug and the Living Water of our Gracious Lord is flowing.

So Excited!

I'm SO EXCITED!! The services in the past several weeks have been wonderfully filled with the Presence of the Lord and His preparing us for His works of service! Thank you so much for your obedience to the Spirit. I'm longing to see where the Lord will take us next... can't wait from week to week....
I love to watch and listen to the services over the internet while working at school. Sometimes they even seem better the second time around! :o)
Am keeping you and Deborah in prayer as often as the Lord brings you to mind.

It's the Holy Spirit

I want to tell you how blessed I am to be back at Brownsville. I never thought God would bring me back here, when I would come here it seemed to be so different and it didn’t feel right. But, once I got past former expectations and missing the past leadership team, I realized like you said, Sunday, it’s not people, it’s the Holy Spirit. My Heavenly Father, God the Spirit, has been moving and ministering to me and me to Him since I came back here regularly and I am so pleased to be here.
Snow Birds
21 April 2008 20:00 | Jim and Sandy
I thought I would share this. Jim and Sandy (from NY) come to our church Dec-Mar. They are so blessed by Brownsville and have been coming since the revival. Sandy shared with me that their church was so dry and it was always hard to go home. She is a worship leader at their church, they teach Bible study, and are a very active couple. Anyway, the church is starting to "catch on fire"; isn't that wonderful? I love hearing good reports from other churches how God is moving.
Our friends in Ohio, who lived here several years ago and were so active at BAG also, are now experiencing a real move of God in their once very dry church. We are going there in May to visit.
I just think it is so exciting. Their note:
“(We heard) you guys had a great service yesterday. So did we! We sponsored a women's conference the first week of April and something really broke loose in the spirit. On the 6th Pastor didn't preach but pretty much just cried the whole service. Yesterday the worship was so awesome that no one wanted to stop. Even during offering, people were still standing and worshipping. I introduced two new songs that I learned while at Brownsville, "Come Thou Fount, Come Thou King" and "Hosanna". We did them yesterday and everyone loved them. Our church is going to be installed as a Bridge Church under Streams Ministries next Sunday. That should be good too. The big guy, John Paul Jackson, will be coming. “

A Living Witness

Pastor Evon,
I had to write and let your know what God is doing in my life through you and your ministry. Since your arrival at Brownsville, you have been breaking that "poverty" mentality off of the congregation and this city.
I'm a living witness that God hears your prayers and mostly importantly, answers them.
Where do I begin? First, I'm maturing in the Lord like never before. I got a letter in the mail on last week that my employer, the Escambia County School Board, is increasing my pay by three steps (approximately $2,200 per year) with an effective date of March 17, 2008. This is because they are accepting work experience that I had with the school system before becoming certified to teach.
Next, my uncle, my mother's only brother died on March 25th and left my mother and I as beneficiaries on his bank account ($80,000.). I am completely blown away by God's goodness, grace and mercy. I brought my mother to live with me a year ago in April because of health problems. The Lord is restoring that relationship. No, He is creating a relationship that did not exist before.
I ask that you pray for my mother's salvation (she's 81 years old); and for God's wisdom with the finances that He is putting into our hands.
I pray that God will continue to bless you and your family. I thank God for such wonderful, God fearing people as a part of our church congregation.
