God Healed Me!    11 March 2008 20:20 | James
James was scheduled for an ultrasound and biopsy last Wednesday. The previous Sunday you prayed for James (sermon on healings, restoration to relationships and breakthroughs). He had been to the doctor and his PSA were highly elevated and doctor ordered the ultrasound immediately. After prayer that Sunday, James believed that God healed him. I suggested ( I really felt prompted by the Holy Spirit) that he have another blood test done before the ultrasound which he did on that Monday. If it wasn't normal, then he would go ahead with ultrasound because God does use medicine, surgery etc. He called on Tuesday to get results and the PSA machine was down, therefore he couldn't get his results for 7-10 days. By faith believing that he was healed, he canceled the ultrasound for the next day. It was rescheduled for the 19th. You and Deborah just went through this and you know how you want to KNOW as soon as possible. James called today and his numbers were NORMAL. Praise the Lord! James KNOWS it was God! He gives him all the glory for it. It was funny, we watched the church program Saturday night and it showed you praying for James. James said when he saw it, "That's when GOD HEALED ME!". James was right! I'm so very thankful God healed James but also to increase James' faith. James totally believes and has received healing before but with each report, your faith goes deeper!

A Warmth    10 March 2008 20:18 | Jim and Nancy
Dear Pastor Evon,

Service today (Sunday morning) was wonderful. The Lord showed up in power. Thank you for being obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Something special happened for us during service that I wanted to share with you. Nancy was healed of pain that had been going on all week – pain in her upper back, neck and shoulders. The problem started five days ago. From the outset we prayed for the Lord to heal Nancy. It was curious that for the first two days, Nancy’s pain was on the right side, but then shifted to the left. The evening of the second day, the pain got worse. We used heat compresses and prayed fervently. Although I had not told Nancy, I had decided that I would take her to the doctor the next morning if things were not better. Well, the next day, Nancy was a little better, but still had remnants of the problem. However, by the next day (Saturday), the pain had shifted to the left side. Again we used the same approach, heat and prayer. This morning before we left for church, Nancy was feeling a bit better – but still experienced pain. During service, Nancy told me that she felt the Lord was healing her. She later said there was “a warmth” in the affected areas. The pain was gone – and still is. Praise God! His Mercy and Love are beyond measure. We know that as His children, when we call on Him – He answers in ways that not only bless us, but give Him Glory as well!

We love you and Deborah and pray that your ministry will continue to bear much fruit for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessings

Why?    22 February 2008 20:34 | Ken
I want to know 1 thing, why do people fall when hands are laid on them?? I have NEVER read anything in the word of God about anyone falling after being prayed for. The bible tells us to try the spirits, and thats exactally what I'm doing. By the grace of God I will not be decieved as many are being. I absolutely do not want to judge anyone, but I do want to go by the word of God, and that only. If it aint in there, then I dont believe it. I thank God for saving my soul and blessing me so much, he has helped me through many tough times in my life, and I am thankful for the gifts he has given me.

While the bible does not use the modern terms "falling out" or being "slain in the spirit", it does talk many times of people encountering the manifest presence of God in such a way that they would fall to the ground. See: 2 Chronicles 5:14, John 18:6, Acts 9:3-4, and Ezekiel 3:23. People react to the presence of God in different ways, falling down is not a requirement to receive a touch from the Lord.

Confirmation    20 February 2008 21:10 | Christy
Dear Bro Evon,
First I want to tell you, thank you for coming to this area. Pensacola is blessed to have a man of God like you here. I was visiting your church on Sunday 16th. The service was awesome! Just like God, he interrupted and called for the visitors to come forth. You said that the Lord wanted those that needed a touch from him to come, well I always want a touch from him, but I did not want to take up time, unless it was truly my time. So I did not move until you said I was watching you walk up to the church and open the door . What you did not know, as I was walking onto the church I heard a voice say, I'm watching you come into this house. Of course I thought oh no!! they're watching me and is everything okay, do I have it all together? Then the Lord said don't let those thoughts come in, you are okay. I never thought about it again until the invitation. I was over come with the Lord, cause He is quick to love on us. Confirmation is always good, thank you.

Twice in Two Days!    29 January 2008 21:12 | Anonymous
I'd like to share a story with you...

The Lord has been gently drawing to His heart a teacher I work with, over the past couple of years. He is from a Catholic background, is married, and has two children - a daughter and a son. It's been great to see his hunger for the Lord - he's always asking me questions from the Bible, he often attends First Priority meetings at school, and he comes to our once a month prayer meeting that we have after school. He teaches in the Special Ed department - his class is what we refer to as "self-contained" or the "behavior unit" ... the worst of the worst... definitely an extremely tough position!

Last year he asked me if there were any activities at BAG for his son to get involved in. I told him about HA and cell groups and the next thing you know, his son is hooked up and diving into all HA offers. He’s an 8th grader, attends “Dournge” cell group and absolutely loves it!!.

I thought the family attended a local Catholic Church (the kids used to attend school there) so I never invited them to BAG. I recently found out that they don't attend regularly, so I invited them to come and visit. The Father has dropped his son off for discipleship with Pastor Paul the past couple of weeks and so again, I invited him to come to service Sunday... which he did.

I didn't know he had come, and I was sitting in the balcony watching as the hungry went forward for prayer to receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. And who was among those to go?... the son on the right side of the church and the father on the left side. Pastor Evon, as you directed altar workers to get with each person; I noticed the father never had anyone to pray with him. Pastor Aaron was standing at the other end of the altar and Pastor Evon finally directed Aaron to go to him. It was definitely a divine appointment.

I went down and quietly stood behind the father as Aaron prayed for him. God gently dropped him to the floor. :) I never spoke with him that day, but knew he'd be in my office Monday to talk about it... I was eager to hear what he had to say.

"WOW!" as he entered my office, "Wow! What can you tell me about the Holy Ghost? In the Catholic Church we pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost... and that's the only time the Holy Ghost is mentioned. Your preacher was teaching about the Holy Ghost."

I spent some time explaining who the Holy Spirit was and His purpose and place in our lives. I then asked him to tell me about his experience Sunday morning...

"It was wonderful - from the minute I walked in the door and the big guy in the suit greeted me. I sat in the back of the church - feeling a little uncomfortable in my jeans - but you told me it was ok to wear jeans. After I looked around, I saw others dressed casually, so I felt more comfortable. It was truly a 'worship' service. The music was wonderful. Tears streamed down my face - I don't know why. The pastor spoke about the Holy Ghost and invited us to go down. He said everyone responds differently... some get excited, some are quiet, and so on. So, I felt it was ok for me to go - there was no pressure how I needed to respond."

(By the way, he came to one or two BBF services with his son last summer and watched as God moved in power.)

"I stood down front as the pastor told prayer workers to go to someone at the front. It seemed like forever and no one came to me. Finally, Aaron came."

I asked him if he knew who Pastor Aaron was and he said yes, he remember him from BBF as he went "bam - bam - bam" praying for people. And he motioned how Aaron would lay hands on people and they fell out.

"I was standing there with my hands raised in surrender. I was praying and all of a sudden, it felt like my feet were pulled straight out in front of me and 'swoosh' I went down. I was so peaceful. I don't know how long I was there, and I kept telling myself to get up. Then I'd say to myself, no, you don't have to get up. It was so wonderful. Finally I was barely able to get up and go back to my seat. I went in church one way and came out another way!"

"Later that day, my wife came home from work and asked how church was and what happened... so I told her. Then I laughed. She asked me, and when I told her how I fell on the floor - I just laughed!!"

"My son said to me - you sure are in a good mood."

"Something is different and I want MORE!"

So, Pastors, I just wanted to share of this father’s experience and how each of you have played a part in one way or another in all God is doing in this family’s lives.

I can't wait to see the next chapter written.... :)
Ain't God good!?!?!

P.S. The father just stopped by my office and told me this...

Sunday a lady dropped the son off at the house after skating with the youth. The lady came in the house and told him that when she was filled with the Holy Spirit, her life began to change... including no longer cussing. he thought that was interesting - and that was that.

He then told me that Monday morning he walked out of his house and didn't realize that there was ice on the stairs. He slipped and landed hard on his back. He was about to let out a string of horrible profanities, but they got caught in his throat.

His wife said - looks like you've been on your back twice in two days!

He said the devil may have put him on his back the second time, but "something" didn't let the profanity fly.
